As an artist I am very much a romantic dreamer who is drawn to various genres in Art. I live for variety and express it in vibrant figurative paintings, contemporary abstract work, mixed-media textile illustrations, and acrylic on glass works. However the underlying expression in my work is the female figure, as I often allude to the figure in the curves of my brushstroke and the femininity in the colors I choose. Despite whether the subject of a painting is a landscape or non-representational my viewers always pick up on the allusive figure. My subconscious is often a huge factor in the process of creation, especially when painting expressive figurative pieces. I have come to realize that the figure appears in my work even when it is unintentional. The energy in my paintings originates from the energy which I surround myself with during the creation process. My studio is filled with items and images that inspire all of my senses. I believe by surrounding myself with a constant array of love and positive energies that I will forever be able to release my best creations on to a surface for you all to see.
The female figure is my muse. I adore the curves, style, grace, and energy which each female constantly radiates. The inspirations essentially originate from stylized fashion, both modern and vintage, all which consistantly inspires my work with new mediums, and designs. My abstract work is often produced using many thin layers of true pigment to create clean vibrant color infused with emotion and movement. These pieces are often created on glass or stained onto canvas which create a contemporary sleek finish. I also love to paint very thick and textured abstractions using quick gestural strokes that develop into scenery illustrations or various stylized figurative pieces.
